Asim Rehman was appointed commissioner and chief administrative law judge at the New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, the nation’s largest administrative tribunal, which holds approximately 400,000 trials and hearings a year. He is the first Muslim American and the first person of South Asian descent to hold the position. Previously, he served an appointment as general counsel and deputy commissioner for legal matters of the New York City Department of Correction.
