The Class of 2023 and their families and friends convened at Hill Auditorium on May 5 to celebrate Senior Day—a gathering far removed from the start of their 1L year, which began on Zoom at the outset of the pandemic.

The 2023 Black Alumni Reunion: "Celebrating Our Legacy, Empowering Our Future"

Michigan Law’s Black Alumni Reunion brought together more than 200 alumni and their guests to support, learn from, and celebrate the Law School’s Black community, and to promote the matriculation and success of Black students at Michigan Law. It was the fourth edition of the Black Alumni Reunion and the first to take place in person since 2017.

21 New Faculty Members Join Michigan Law

Twenty one full-time professors joined the University of Michigan Law School faculty beginning in the 2022–2023 academic year, with research and teaching interests focused in areas as diverse as economics, energy law, entrepreneurship, international law, intellectual property, philosophy, and race and inequality, among others.

Pro Bono Program Builds on Best-Ever Year

In a year where virtually everyone needed extra help to get by, Michigan Law students went above and beyond to offer their assistance through the Law School’s Pro Bono Program, which asks students to voluntarily commit to pro bono service outside of the classroom. Despite the constraints of the pandemic, a record-breaking 252 students participated in the program during the 2020–2021 academic year.
